The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for fostering a collaborative work environment, leading, and coaching the day-to-day work of team members. You will be responsible for planning, breaking down work, and supporting sprint goals and objectives. You will be able to make independent decisions and recommendations, collaborating with Principal and Staff engineers, when needed.

What you do:

  • Perform complex engineering tasks, able to make trade-off decisions, ensure follow-ups are done to keep tech debt low
  • Design/implement infrastructure as code templates, perform peer review of pull requests
  • Create documentation and architecture decision records to support engineering activities
  • Solve critical issues/bugs without guidance
  • Decide on priority of work items, able to break down Epics into Stories and sub-tasks, provide estimates that are almost always accurate
  • Help scale by delegating tasks to other engineers and support them in their growth and development
  • Raise organizational concerns to your leaders so we can address them collaboratively
  • Participate in interviews and providing feedback for others
  • Stay up to date on latest Azure services and published articles

What you know:

  • 5+ years in a Cloud Engineer/DevOps role on Azure or AWS
  • 5+ years’ experience with PowerShell or Python, using Cloud API’s
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, database, permissions, serverless, monitoring and other core services
  • Experience with managing cloud spend, working in a multi-account structure
  • Experience in operating Kubernetes applications
  • Experience implementing CI/CD builds and pipelines
