Database Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Database Administrator (SQL) in Prague. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases and data lake environments. You will work closely with our development and Data Lake teams to implement and maintain database systems that support our business operations and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and Configure Databases: Set up and manage database software and instances.
• Azure Data Lake Management: Help build and manage data pipelines and storage in Azure Data Lake.
• Performance Monitoring: Keep an eye on database performance and fix any issues.
• Backup and Recovery: Create and manage backup plans to protect our data.
• Security Management: Ensure database security and manage user access.
• Data Integration: Connect different data sources and manage data flows. Create schemas and tables.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor and plan for database growth and resource needs.
• Troubleshooting: Solve database-related problems quickly.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of database setups and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work with other teams to meet database needs and communicate updates.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL-scripting and PowerShell or T-SQL.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies.
• Understanding of database security and user management.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Fluent English skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience/Knowledge with Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory would be a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SQL Database Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
