*This is a full-time position located in our clinic space in Cumming

SUMMARY
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you are responsible for preparing and testing internal patient samples for urinalysis utilizing an LC-MS system. Strong attention to detail combined with reliable and consistent work are key to this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens; checking labeling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.
  • Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
  • Analyzes urine samples to determine concentrations of specific analytes in relation to treatments prescribed by SSJC physicians.
  • Accurately documenting in EMR system
  • Providing updates on testing process as well as reiterating test results if necessary
  • Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.
  • Reports to Lab Director
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be responsive and comfortable handling and processing urine samples
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience using eClinicalWorks or other EHR system preferred
  • 1 year clinical experience preferred
  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • MLT(ASCP) certification required
  • Prior experience with LCMS required
