Job Overview
The Account Executive is a net-new business/hunter role responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new accounts within Mitratech's background screening solutions, AssureHIire. This is not a managed-territory or inherited-book position — the ideal candidate builds their own pipeline from the ground up through active prospecting, cold outreach, and relationship building. Success requires patience through a longer ramp period, self-direction, and comfort with a compensation structure weighted toward new business generation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Build a pipeline from scratch through outbound prospecting, cold calling, and referral generation — no existing book of business or assigned territory is provided.
• Achieve new business production (bookings) goals by positioning Mitratech's background screening solutions to net-new clients.
• Cross-sell across Mitratech's product suite where applicable.
• Maintain accurate CRM data on pipeline, opportunities, and territory activity.
• Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with prospective buyers; travel regionally/nationally as needed.
• Respond to pre-sale technical and process questions to keep deals moving.
• Stay current on background screening industry trends, competitor positioning, and market conditions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of B2B sales experience; prior experience selling background screening or related HR/compliance solutions strongly preferred.
• Proven track record building new business from the ground up — you thrive on prospecting, cold outreach, and creating your own pipeline rather than managing an existing book.
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own schedule and territory strategy with autonomy.
• Willingness to travel regionally/nationally (up to 75%).
• Entrepreneurial mindset — you understand that new business sales roles have a natural ramp period, and you're energized by the long game and the payoff that comes with it.
• Strong executive-level communication and relationship-building skills.

This role can be performed 100% remotely anywhere in the USA. Anticipated base salary: $85,000 – $95,000 annually USD, plus commission tied to bookings and billings. Total compensation is variable and performance-driven.
