Job Description

The Prevalent Technical Solutions Consultant will be working as part of the Professional Services Team, a dynamic and multi skilled team delivering client facing professional services and solutions across a range of service deliverables.

The Technical Solutions Team is responsible for delivering custom built API integrations between the Prevalent Platform and other upstream/downstream enterprise applications for our clients. In collaboration with Project Leads and Professional Services Consultants, the Technical Solutions Consultant will work with clients to identify business requirements, conversion of these requirements into technical use cases and working with development teams to develop custom API integrations tools using a dedicated IPaaS solution. Additionally, the Technical Solutions Consultant will act as a first line response resource for current integration support issues and inquires, development of minor middleware enhancements, and to help drive early adoption of the integrated solution.

In addition to the core responsibilities, the Technical Solutions Consultant may be assigned internal API driven projects designed to help enable both internal and external customers. These projects will be designed, managed, tested, and maintained by the Technical Solutions Consultant with additional Prevalent resources assisting where needed.

You will need to be able to learn and be confident in the use of new technologies to include SaaS and IPaaS software, and have the ability to quickly understand upstream/downstream technologies and how these technologies would integrate with Prevalent. Having a high-level conceptual understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practice is required. Additionally, you will need to be comfortable with being able to understand and optimize data driven workflows.

The Technical Solutions Consultant must be able to support multiple projects at various stages of the API Integration lifecycle. There is an emphasis on being dynamic, flexible and to be able to think outside of the box while maintaining a logical and methodical approach.

The role is pre-dominantly remote based, but there remains the requirement and ability to travel to conduct onsite client meetings and visit the Ottawa office periodically.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ability to act in a technical consulting role to convert client business requirements into technical user stories and pseudo code
  • Work with Development teams to translate Client requirements into programmer’s technical specifications
  • Work with Clients to identify requirement gaps and communicate recommended solutions to both Clients and Development Teams
  • Work with Development to define UAT testing criteria and to assist Clients with testing procedures and results confirmation
  • Support Client inquires and troubleshooting during post solution delivery
  • Maintain delivered solutions by identifying and solutioning project issues and enhancements
  • Work independently but collaboratively within the Professional Services and Technical Solutions Teams and support other team members
  • Ensuring that all project and integration related documents are up to date
Key Skills & Education
  • Qualifications or degree level education in applicable subjects.
  • Firm understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Previous experience supporting or working with integrated development environments or IPaaS software
  • Experience in using Postman to troubleshoot and test API endpoints
  • Basic understanding of relational database design
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface with clients confidently and professionally
  • Conceptual understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices
  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Natural ability to learn and use new technology
  • Ability to work independently in line with defined and tight timescales.
  • Ability to be manage a workload of several client engagements at once
  • Proactive, self-driven mentality, keen to improve and refine
Experience & Characteristics
  • 5+ years in application support, professional services, or application integration role.
  • General technical background in APIs, IDE/IPaaS, RDBMS, and application data flows
  • Experienced in risk management or TPRM related roles is preferred.
  • Experienced in delivering client-facing services in industry related organizations.
  • Work with other departments and colleagues to aid the successful completion of business priorities
  • Leverage relevant experience to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Showcase excellent organizational skills
  • Think on your feet and use initiative
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills required to build relationships
