JOB OVERVIEW: We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our reporting team. We expect the new member to help the team implement the vision for the new architecture by cooperating in the respective R&D process. At the same time, this person will also be active in helping develop new features for the reporting product, as we continue to expand the reporting capabilities provided to our customers.

Through analytics capabilities, Kevel Reporting gives customers visibility over how their ad business behaves. The Reporting team is responsible for transforming raw log data from the AdServer to enable reports to run on time. That involves aggregating large volumes of data through data transformation pipelines and enabling the querying capabilities to address business needs. The team is redesigning the system's architecture and expects to reduce the time it takes to generate reports by over 100x during 2025.

LOCATION: Remote - Portugal. The position is 100% fully remote although we do have an office located in Porto with a team who enjoys meeting there regularly. Applicants located, and legally eligible to work anywhere within Portugal, ideally Porto, are encourage to apply.

PAY TRANSPARENCY: Kevel uses external, third-party market data to determine compensation for all open positions. Our compensation philosophy is based on the candidate’s specific working location and experience level. This means that we will take a no negotiation approach in our recruitment and offer processes. The pay range for this position for applicants located in Portugal is €49,844 - €66,791.

An exact offer for this position will be determined based on the candidate's working location and experience level, in relation to our existing team.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Build core infrastructure used by the data pipelines and reporting services
  • Contribute to data engineering efforts to evolve our pipelines and data lakes from batch processing to streaming architecture, to provide near real-time reporting capabilities
  • Build full-stack (front-end and back-end) applications that power Kevel’s reporting functions, including writing tests and setting up CI/CD pipelines
  • Drive discovery and extract insights from internal data sources. Help drive the direction of system innovation.
  • Contribute to the creation of reporting back end and front end applications used by internal, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the core engineering team to transition discoveries and capabilities into production systems. These systems need to provide the scalability, reliability, security, and performance that our global customers require.
  • Work closely with the product management team to help design and build new features powered by data-driven insights.
  • Work closely with our customer success teams to deliver value and drive growth.

SKILLS YOU'LL BRING WITH YOU:

  • Experience building data transformation pipelines and data analytics platforms.
  • Data transformation pipelines and analytics, particularly with AWS Redshift, Spark, or PostgreSQL.
  • Amazon Web Services experience, including Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, lambdas, S3, AWS CI/CD services (CodeBuild, CodePipeline, etc.), EC2, RDS.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Programming experience using Clojure, TypeScript, Python, Scala.
