About FieldPulse

FieldPulse is a fun, dedicated, and growing team that is building modern applications for small home service businesses (plumbers, electricians, HVAC, specialty contractors, etc.) to help organize and run their business operations.

FieldPulse is an all-in-one application to run field service businesses. The software cuts down on administrative tasks and endless paperwork. With FieldPulse, users can schedule jobs, send itemized estimates and invoices, and even receive payments through their phones. Teams can see jobs and clients' details, track assigned tasks, and provide status updates. Users can manage customer information, log comments, and keep track of past jobs and invoices.

We're looking for an AI/Agentic Systems Product Intern to join our Emerging Technology team this summer. You'll work on AI-powered products that automate real business workflows, from intelligent call handling and scheduling to in-app AI assistants and smart automation across our platform.

This isn't a side project or a sandbox. Our AI systems are live in production, powered by large language models across voice, in-app, and workflow automation use cases, with real customers relying on them every day. You'll work alongside product, engineering, and customer success to help us evaluate, improve, and scale what we're building.

If you're excited about AI, interested in how LLMs work in the real world, and want to ship work that actually matters – this is the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze AI system interactions and evaluation results to identify failure patterns, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support prompt engineering efforts by reviewing system prompt iterations and tracking their impact on AI system performance and user outcomes.
  • Help build and maintain evaluation test cases – writing scenarios based on real customer interactions to stress-test AI-powered features and agentic systems.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on key metrics: AI task completion rates, accuracy, user engagement, and adoption patterns.
  • Research and prototype new AI-powered features and workflows that could improve the FieldPulse product experience.
  • Conduct research on customer onboarding and usage patterns to inform product decisions.
  • Translate complex AI concepts and technical findings into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders including customer success, marketing, and leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing during weekly syncs and planning sessions.
  • Contribute to product documentation, internal dashboards, and analysis that drives roadmap decisions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with data, spotting patterns, and drawing conclusions.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, large language models, and how they're applied to real products.
  • Ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences – you can bridge the gap between what the technology does and why it matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to clearly document findings and present insights.
  • Highly organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering. Familiarity with basic Python/scripting is a plus, as is exposure to concepts like MCP tooling or RAG pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of SQL – able to read and run queries to pull specific data, even if you're not writing them from scratch.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Lovable, V0, Figma Make) or vibe coding is a plus, as is experience with automation software (e.g., Zapier, n8n). Familiarity with Jira, Figma, or Notion is helpful but not required.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience working on a live SaaS product used by real customers.
  • Exposure to the full product development lifecycle – from research to launch.
  • Mentorship from experienced product managers and cross-functional teammates.
  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that improve customer experience.
  • A collaborative, fast-paced work environment with room to learn and grow.
