About the Opportunity

Searching for your next challenge? Dropoff is looking for a Contract Fleet Assistant. This position is contract to hire.

The Fleet Assistant's primary focus is to ensure service quality and compliance with state and national regulations with the Dropoff driver and vehicle fleet. This position requires leadership and logistical skills in establishing and executing of operational procedures to ensure on-time delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and safety to drivers. The Fleet Assistant also assumes responsibility for sourcing and management of the Dropoff vehicle fleet. This includes managing all third-party vendors to source vehicles to meet the needs of Dropoff clients. This position is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies to optimize vehicle utilization and maintenance.

  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules.

  • Manage fleet inventory, including procurement and disposal of vehicles to enhance fleet operations.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding fleet operations (including licensure and registration).

  • Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance

  • Develop cost-saving strategies

  • Proven ability to work independently and make good decisions with minimal direction

  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to both serve and direct team activities

  • Positive interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive attitude while working with individuals in different departments and in pressured situations

  • Demonstrated familiarity with up to date technologies and software programs to achieve greater productivity.

  • Strong problem solving skills, with an ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment

  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
